State Duma deputy from the Crimean region Mikhail Sheremet said that the special military operation (SVO) of Russia in Ukraine should be given a new status – the status of counter-terrorism. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti .
“Ukraine has become a stronghold and hotbed of international terrorism. The actions of the Kyiv regime to destroy its own population, the shelling of peaceful cities and the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, attempts of aggression against neighboring states are criminal. Therefore, I believe that the nature of the special military operation in Ukraine should be changed. This is not just a special, but a counter-terrorist operation,” he suggested.
According to the parliamentarian, the current authorities of Ukraine pose a danger to the entire civilized world.
Earlier, Sheremet responded to the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about his intention to seize Crimea. “Zelensky’s statement is criminal, and he will definitely answer at the tribunal for encroachments on the territory of Russia,” the deputy emphasized.
