In particular, according to her , we are talking about sanctions and visa restrictions against governments and individuals involved in the detention of US citizens.

American Paul Whelan, convicted in Russia for espionage, continues to serve his sentence in a Mordovian colony. Earlier, US President Joe Biden noted that he would like to exchange Whelan, but the Russian authorities refused to do so. At the same time, the American himself believes that nothing has been done for his release, even despite the approaching anniversary of his arrest – 4 years.
