Trinity Bridge is being reconstructed in Pskov. Governor Mikhail Vedernikov confirmed plans to launch traffic on it before the end of 2022.
According to the head of the region, we are talking about the launch of technical traffic, since weather conditions may not allow laying the top layer of asphalt, writes Pskov news feed.
According to Vedernikov, the opening of the bridge is a strategic task, since the subsequent plans of the authorities are tied to this object. Even with a technical layer of asphalt, the bridge can be used and the city will be able to unload.
The Trinity Bridge was closed for reconstruction on March 1. It is expected to open to traffic ahead of schedule. The final improvement of the crossing will be completed in 2023.
The bridge was built in 1954 according to the standards of 1947. Specialists recorded cracks in the beams that weakened the structure, recalls the Pskov Information Agency.
