“Kommersant” became aware of the details regarding the current state of “Trinity” Andrei Rublev. After studying the consequences of transporting the icon to the Trinity-Sergius Lavra and back in the summer of 2022, experts came to the conclusion that for at least a year, further movements must be excluded for the sake of the physical safety of the monument. This decision was made before information about the alleged transfer of the icon to the Russian Orthodox Church appeared. Meanwhile, Kommersant‘s sources in the Ministry of Culture assure that the Trinity will be transferred to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior by Holy Trinity Day (June 4), but for two weeks – after which it will be restored for one year.
