    UN says 'cautious optimism' to extend grain deal

    The UN maintains “cautious optimism” on the issue of extending the Black Sea grain initiative, writes TASS citing a source in the international organization.

    he said the deal is likely to be renewed. “We have reason to believe, to be cautiously optimistic, but optimistic about the extension of the Black Sea initiative,” he stressed.

    The agreement on food exports from Ukraine was concluded on July 22 for 120 days. It will run until November 19th. In the event that none of the parties is against (Russia, the UN, Ukraine, Turkey), the agreement will automatically be extended. Ukraine (AFU) to the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.

    On November 2, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the resumption of Moscow’s participation in the initiative after Kyiv provided written guarantees.
