In Kasimov, Ryazan region, they plan to restore the house, which was visited by the famous writer and Nobel laureate Boris Pasternak. This was stated by the head of the city Ivan Bakhilov live, which was held with the support of the Regional Management Center.
According to Bakhilov, young active investors are ready to sponsor the renovation of the cultural facility. At the same time, legal issues have to be settled in advance. The street on which the house is located will also be landscaped.
“This will be another location that will attract tourists,” added the head of Kasimov, his quote is quoted by RIA “7 News”.
As 62INFO.ru notes, now the house is in a ruined state. There was a fire in it, besides, time has contributed. Previously, the building belonged to Pasternak’s uncle, Kasimov’s doctor Osip Kaufman. The writer was visiting a relative in the summer of 1920. Researchers believe that the impressions of Kasimov inspired Pasternak to describe the city of Yuryatin in the novel Doctor Zhivago.
Local residents also fought for the preservation of the house. They even sent a message to Quentin Tarantino, as the director spoke more than once about his love for Pasternak’s works.Share:
