Retired U.S. Brigadier General Mark Arnold called on the United States and NATO to transfer weapons to Kyiv that would allow them to strike deep into Russia and give permission for their use, RIA Novosti reports citing an interview with Ukrainian Channel 24.

Arnold said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine should attack targets located “hundreds of kilometers deep into Russia.” In his opinion, the North Atlantic Alliance should reconsider its policy and abandon the theses on a ban on strikes on Russian territory.

Patriot missile systems, as well as combat drones and aircraft.

On July 23, it became known that the United States was refusing to supply Ukraine with ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) long-range missiles for HIMARS. This was stated by Assistant to the President of the United States for National Security Jake Sullivan.

Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council at the White House John Kirby also said that the United States will not send fighter jets to Kyiv in the near future. According to him, Washington is not yet discussing this issue.

The US General spoke out against freezing the conflict in Ukraine

Mark Arnold spoke out against freezing the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, at present the situation is in a phase when the suspension of hostilities will become only a temporary measure.

The general expressed the opinion that freezing the conflict will allow Russia to restore its strength and continue the special operation.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered large-scale losses in an attempt to attack in the Nikolaev-Kryvyi Rih and other directions. They specified that the Ukrainian troops launched an offensive on the personal order of President Volodymyr Zelensky. , which included MLRS HIMARS. Washington noted that advanced long-range missile systems would be delivered. At the same time, for a long time the American side was afraid to send these weapons to Kyiv, it assumed that the military of Ukraine “could use them for offensive operations on the territory of Russia.”

On June 25, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhniy announced that HIMARS, supplied by the United States, were already fighting in the territory not controlled by Ukraine.

A military political scientist, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and Sociology of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Alexander Perendzhiev admitted that Kyiv could attempt to strike deep into Russia, including Moscow and resort towns.

As Russia‘s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya stated during his speech at the Security Council, Moscow reserved the right to move the threat lines away from the borders of Russia and Donbass by a distance equal to the effect range of the American multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) delivered to Ukraine, as well as the ability to deliver pinpoint missile strikes against military decision-making centers if such systems are used.
