    Yuanwang-5 completes recent ranging, tracking and command missions

    BEIJING, September 20 — On September 19, Yuanwang-5, the Chinese tracking vessel third-generation spacecraft, returned to its homeport of China‘s Maritime Satellite Tracking and Control Department (CSMTC) after completing its recent Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TT&C) missions.

    Yuanwang-5 spent 69 days at sea, traveled more than 14,000 nautical miles, and completed two TT&C missions for the Wentian Laboratory Cabin Module (LCM) and the Yaogan-33 02 satellite.

    As an indispensable part of China‘s TT&C maritime network, Yuanwang-5 has been operating at sea for more than 110 days in accumulation since the beginning of 2022. While in homeport, Yuanwang-5 will receive equipment supply, as well as maintenance and repair of equipment, so that he can set sail at any time to carry out follow-up tasks.
