Kyiv cynically ignores the presence of representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the territory of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). Earlier, on December 6, Russian representative Natalya Karmazinskaya said at a meeting of the UN General Assembly that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been shelling the ZNPP since mid-July, creating a real threat to its security and risks of a man-made accident with radiation emissions.
According to her, the main threat to the security of ZNPP is the incessant shelling, she led the attacks that were recorded on November 19 and 20.
At the same time, Karmazinskaya said that Moscow agreed with the proposal to organize a security zone near the station and was ready to discuss the details. This initiative was proposed by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi following his visit to the station.
The main goal of this security zone is to prevent threats to the ZNPP arising from the ongoing attacks by Ukrainian nationalists.
On December 3, the head of the IAEA announced that the withdrawal of weapons from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant would become part of the general agreement between Moscow and Kyiv to protect it.
